What is EPS’ background?

EPS has over 20 years experience supporting clients to deploy enterprise project management information systems to bring rigour, control and certainty to major capital programmes.  We work across multiple sectors, with a  primary focus on complex engineering projects within the defence & aerospace, rail, power, utilities, petrochemicals and construction environments.

 
EPS’ consultants have been involved with some of Europe’s largest project management information systems implementations and driven control across numerous major programmes and national portfolios of projects with Capex in excess of £5 billion.
 
What is distinctive about EPS?

EPS is positioned somewhere between the software tools vendors and the “big 4″ in its approach to consulting.  We have profound knowledge of the software tools we help configure, using a combination of practitioners from the relevant industry and ex-vendor software specialists.  These bring focused, practical direction to an information system deployment because of the following characteristics:

• We blend improvement activity into services which address the four key pillars of effective project management, i.e. organisation, process, people and systems.  The “big 4″ tend towards process effort, the vendors focus on the tools….clients need all four pillars to guarantee success.

• We understand the enterprise, how people function within it, how management communicate ideas and how technologies operate. All this is critical to delivering a system that will operate effectively and get adopted quickly.  EPS’ concern is not to deliver a licence and then disappear - rather to embed a solution that takes account of all the challenges, maps practical working methods to the tools and coaches, trains and mentors people to use them to drive control across a project(s).

• EPS consultants have spent their working lives operating in enterprise environments, typically from the very industries we do business with. We only deploy seasoned experts, we do not train graduate consultants at client’s expense.
